Choose the right method
Lossless repacking does not reduce image resolution and may save little on PDFs that are already optimized. Visual modes can make colorful scans much smaller while keeping the page appearance close to the original, but they turn every page into an image: searchable text, links, forms and signatures are not retained. Digital signatures can become invalid after any PDF rewrite. Check the result before sharing.
