- JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas will be filled with the background color.
- JPG can’t store animation — only the first frame is kept.

- Are my JPEG XL files uploaded?
- No. File contents are processed in your browser on your device, rather than uploaded to ReFormatic.
- Will converting JPEG XL to JPG reduce quality?
- JPG uses lossy compression, so re-encoding may discard detail even at a high quality setting. Check the preview before downloading.
- What happens to photo metadata and GPS location?
- The default privacy setting removes private EXIF details such as GPS location, serial numbers and owner names. Other metadata is kept only when the output format and encoder support it. You can choose to preserve or remove metadata in the settings.
- Can I convert many files at once?
- You can add up to 500 files to a batch, set a common format or adjust files individually, then download multiple results as a ZIP. Large batches may be limited by your device’s available memory.
